Right now, Pensacola trial attorney Mike Papantonio is making headlines in a case in West Virginia against DuPont Company, which allegedly knowingly dumped dangerous heavy metals at an industrial site there that exposed about 7,000 residents to toxic levels of arsenic, cadmium and lead. Papantonio, who heads his firm's mass torts division, is known locally for helping lead a $70 million settlement against Conoco for contamination of Bayou Texar residents' properties from the Agrico Superfund site. Papantonio also helped start the Pensacola Gulf Coastkeepers Inc., an organization that serves the community as a public advocate for the waterways of Northwest Florida.
