A&E: Silver Screen Upgrade

Pensacola now has a new way to entertain itself. Silver Screen Theatre will be offering a variety of entertainment venues every night of the week in addition to its first run movies at discount prices beginning September 2nd .

"Cinetainment is a term we coined to brand Silver Screen as THE place for all of your cinema and entertainment needs. We now serve your favorite coffee drinks as well as a selection of adult beverages and free WI-FI," says owner Ron Estrada.

"We recognized the need for affordable entertainment in a family, smoke free environment. Everything from Dinner Theater on Sunday to Karaoke on Friday will be offered on a weekly basis. Not your usual Karaoke format. Unlike other venues, Silver Screen will be projecting the singers image onto the big screen!"

Teaming up with The Uncharted Zone, there will also be a Wednesday "Songwriters on the Big Screen Night" and a "Smash or Crash" battle of the bands contest judged by audience response every Thursday evening. Plans also include showing your favorite football games on the big screen, live jazz and Improv Comedy.

The Silver Screen Theatre, located behind University Mall, is Escambia County's only locally owned and operated movie theatre. Opened in 1982, it is also Escambia County's longest running movie theatre. In 1983, it was twinned, and in 1996 two more huge screens were added. And now In 2008, it becomes Pensacolas Premier Cinetainment Complex offering  unique fun for all ages.
